I have been looking over the weekend at cars. Not really a favourite topic of mine, I don't salivate over the latest 'this' or the fastest 'that'. I don't buy car magazines and I only ever watch top gear so that I can shout at the television.
However, my lovely wife decided a couple of weeks ago that she would test the solidity of our (lovely) Skoda Octavia by wrapping it round a lamppost before flipping it upside down. It coped very well with this test and both wife and child were unharmed by the experience. I cannot recommend the Skoda enough. If anyone is looking for a big, solid family car with plenty of boot space then get a Skoda.
I digress, My question for today is this; what does a car say about you? more specifically, what does a car say about me if I go to visit a client? If I roll up in a beat up landrover it says one thing, if it's a flashy BMW it says another. I am having real difficulty placing myself on the car scale.
The socialist in me says 'avoid the ostentatious german cars', the designer in me says 'avoid bland company cars', the environmentalist in me says 'get an efficient car' and my wallet is telling me a whole different story. If anyone has any suggestions as to what the perfect car is for an Architect please let me know.
If money, practicality, weather, family and status didn't matter.... I'd have a Volkswagen Karmann Ghia!
